Pre-School/Youth Sports Instructor

We are looking for enthusiastic and qualified individuals to lead our fun and exciting preschool classes for children ages 3-6 years old. These classes include building motor skills of balance and speed while introducing sports such as basketball, soccer, tee ball, and flag football. This individual will instruct our fitness programs at local daycare facilities.

This is your opportunity to make a huge impact with youth in our community and be part of a growing organization. Must be willing to commit to instructing at minimum 3 programs per week and be a team player. Additional opportunities are available to work with marketing and organizational aspects of sports management.

Preferred candidates should have experience with both sports and preschool activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specific sports instruction and motor skill development to preschool aged children
  • Adjust programs based on participant skill level and provide an engaging program for every child in the program
  • Ensure that all children are actively participating in the programs
  • Execute and adjust age based curriculum and lesson plans to meet the needs and expectations of the program

Seasonal Club Volleyball Coach

We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic individuals to join our seasonal Club Volleyball coaching staff and market our travel programs to the community. This is an opportunity to make a huge impact with youth in our community, expand your coaching experience, and be part of a growing organization. For this position, you must be willing to commit to coaching a minimum of 3 hours of practice per week over two days and be available for tournaments on weekends. The season runs from December through April. Additional hours may be available based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Club Volleyball instruction to improve player development and overall player and team experience.
  • Provide a positive and encouraging environment for players to maximize their potential.
  • Positively interact with parents, coaches, and other CAL Sports Academy team members.
  • Build teams through team development and team communication activities and drills.
  • Assess player skill, provide assessments at the beginning and end of the program, and provide recommendations to parents on additional programs and areas to improve.
  • Market CAL Sports Academy programs throughout the community.

Qualifications:

  •  Coaches must possess knowledge of the rules, strategies and techniques of Club Volleyball. Prior coaching experience is preferred.

Sports Performance Coach

CAL Sports Academy is currently seeking a Sports Performance Coach in our facility. The primary role of this position is to offer strength and conditioning as well as speed and agility training for our customers. This position is part-time, varied hours/days including nights and weekends. The perfect candidate should act as a positive role model and positive voice of CAL Sports Academy, as well as be their professional representative. Coach reports directly to the Operations Manager with ongoing coaching development provided by the Executive Team of CAL Sports Academy.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and instructs single customer, small or large group class sessions for targeted populations with appropriate content.
  • Provides strength, speed, agility and conditioning programs to youth athletes of all levels. Programs include sports performance, team training; personal, semi-private, and small group functional training.
  • Implement new training methods, programs, and protocols.
  • Develop and execute camps, clinics and off-site training at our satellite gyms.
  • Able to work independently with performance enhancement customers.
  • Maintains daily progress notes in conjunction with the goals and objectives established. Confers with staff, whenever appropriate, regarding customer progress.
  • Execute performance assessments and evaluations.
  • Displays cooperative behavior. Interacts positively and effectively with others to promote a team environment.
  • Is proactive identifying, reporting and participating in the resolution of any potential or actual patient safety issues.
  • Assist in the development of sport and individual-specific performance programs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients (to include athletes, coaches, parents, and team officials), ensure timely follow up.
  • Keeps current in strength and conditioning through continuing education.
  • Continues to be familiar with current professional standards, philosophy, ethics, and practices by reading appropriate literature, attending in-services, professional meetings, attending conferences, and staying abreast of local and national concerns.
  • Performs other duties necessary to maintain the overall efficiency and continuity of the program.

  • A background in physical education, current or past coaching and teaching experience is preferred
  • Coaches must be certified or complete CPR/First Aid training
  • Coaches must complete and maintain the three (3) clearances required to coach children. Current PA Child Abuse, Criminal Background, and FBI clearances are required. These must be updated yearly.
