Team Cobra Community Service Projects

Each year, CAL Sports travel volleyball and basketball teams give back to the community by doing service projects.

This year it wasn’t possible for the volleyball and basketball teams to work on the same project (as they usually do) because of their conflicting tournament schedules. But, each sport has individually decided to participate in 2 amazing projects.

Team Cobra Girls Club Volleyball players will be raising funds for the Side Out Foundation by participating in a “Dig a Thon”. During the season, the girls will be collecting sponsorship funds, and for every dig they earn money that goes directly to the Dig Pink movement of the Side Out Foundation.

What makes this foundation a perfect fit for Team Cobra is that it is a volleyball specific service project supporting research and treatments for stage iv breast cancers. The foundation not only supports clinical trials for breast cancer, but also helps participants develop skills such as teamwork, leadership and perseverance, giving them opportunities to live meaningful and impactful lives. Side-Out also invests in the future of young athletes by providing access to valuable breast cancer education. Please support the Lady Cobras in their Dig a Thon. Donations can be made here.

Team Cobra AAU Basketball Teams will be taking their service project on the road to help feed people in North East Philadelphia. On March 17th the players will be heading to Jewish Relief Agency preparing boxes, filling them with food, and then delivering the packages to those in need throughout the neighborhood. Jewish Relief Agency (JRA) serves over 6,000 diverse low-income individuals across Greater Philadelphia by relieving hunger, improving lives, and strengthening the community. CAL Sports Academy and Coach Corey put a high priority on performing community service. We believe it promotes a connection both within our organization and the world at large, as well as providing the kids a chance to develop teamwork and problem solving skills. Thank you for your support of these opportunities and the kids who participate!
