Job Description

CAL Sports Academy (CAL) is seeking a responsible and passionate individual who is capable of providing instruction for children ages 3-18. As a premier sports training company committed to youth development, CAL Sports Academy aims to empower young athletes through quality coaching and mentorship. This part-time position offers flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to accommodate the diverse needs of our athletes and families. The coach will be instrumental in delivering specific instruction and guidance to enhance player development and may also contribute to curriculum development for various skill levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specific sports instruction and coaching to enhance player development and overall experience.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans and drills based on program curriculums, ensuring alignment with the goals of CAL Sports Academy.
  • Adjust programs to accommodate varying skill levels and ensure an engaging experience for all participants.
  • Set up the gym and equipment prior to each session, maintaining a safe and organized environment for training.
  • Foster team development and communication through active drills, promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.
  • Assess player skills and communicate progress to parents, providing written recommendations for further development.
  • Maintain positive communication with parents regarding player progress and engagement, serving as a reliable point of contact for inquiries and feedback.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Energetic, patient, and knowledgeable about multiple sports, with a demonstrated ability to connect with young athletes.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred, with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences for athletes and their families.
  • Background in physical education, coaching, or teaching preferred, with a strong understanding of youth development principles.
  • Strong communication and motivational skills, with the ability to effectively engage and inspire young athletes.
  • Proficiency in relevant sports skills, demonstrating competence in coaching and teaching fundamental techniques.

Qualifications

  • Certification or completion of CPR/First Aid training.
  • Completion and maintenance of required clearances to coach children (PA Child Abuse, Criminal Background, FBI), updated annually. Guidance on obtaining these clearances can be provided if necessary.

Compensation: Compensation will be based on experience.
