Congratulations to our CAL Cobras 5th Grade AAU Boys Basketball Travel Team who traveled to Hampton, Virginia to compete in the 2016 AAU Division III Fifth Grade National Championship on July 1st-4th 2016! Being invited to participate in this competition is an honor that reflects just how dedicated, hardworking, and talented each of our players are.
“In June, our players were asked to raise donations to help fund their way to nationals,” said Coach Corey. “They were determined to go. So, they asked their family, friends, neighbors, and local business owners to help sponsor them. We cannot thank those who donated enough for supporting our team. They have worked hard for this honor.”
Our AAU Basketball Travel Team gives boys and girls opportunities to commit to competitive play year-round. We encourage players who are serious about improving their game, who want to have fun, and who want to learn team play to try-out for our team. Our next try-out is in August.
“We couldn’t be prouder of Nick Gesek, Aidan Hennessy, Levi John, Macade Knoblauch, Ian Kutzler, Tyler Luk, Vaughan Martin, Zachary Meehan, Justin Powell, Shaun Purvy, Grayson Scott, Chris Kerns and Owen Zipfel and look forward to next season,” said Coach Dean.
We would also like to thank our business sponsors for their support in helping our 5th Grade Cal Cobras make it to Nationals!
